Next, the Easiest Pairing Ever

First released in 1977, "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" was a staple in our house alongside "Son of a Son of a Sailor," which came out in 1978.  My eight year old self was completely enthralled by the exotic locations and carefree stories of adventure, bravado, and merry-making.  My dad, who wielded absolute control over the stereo cabinet, and did not allow me or my brother to touch the turntable until we were older and properly trained, made most musical selections for the family.  I remember nights when he would turn off the TV and start playing records.  We'd suffer through Engelbert Humperdinck and Tom Jones before he'd ask us for a request.  "Put on the Jimmy Buffett, Dad," We'd chime in unison.

What makes the cocktail pairing for "Changes" easy is the hit single, and first song on the flip side, #Margaritaville. If you are playing this record at a party, then your guests will expect frozen margaritas, and to deny them  would be wrong.  After all, once they have gotten through the A side of the record, they will be primed for a second round, and wish to swing their glasses and sing along, "But there is booze in the blender, and soon it will render that frozen concoction that helps me hang on."

Frozen Strawberry Margarita by David Borden

My frozen margarita recipe (measurements are very approximate and subject to taste and whim):

4 oz. 100% lime juice (I use bottled for convenience)
1 lb. frozen whole strawberries
4-6 oz. clear Tequila
2-3 oz. Triple Sec
simple syrup to taste ( I don't sweeten my margaritas, but some people like them sweet)
Ice

Grind it up until so thick that you have to serve it with a spoon.

Now, if you are having a small gathering of four or fewer, take the time to make real margarita cocktails. These are a guaranteed hit.
